Thread for my fluffy nutters...aka Paddy and Ash, who I'm sure you'll agree resemble the offspring of a hamster and a snow cloud.
Paddy first.
13mnth old intact mosaic male 380-410grams rescued by a teacher from a student who was keeping the pair in a hamster cage. Then surrendered to Furry Friends rescue and adopted by me :\">
First up a shot of his handsome face.

I love the photo of him giving you kisses. Is he holding his little paw up too while he's doing it?

Yes :) They have amazingly dexterous hands - yes hands 4 fingers and a thumb, will hold my fingertips when they want me to talk to them.

biiiiiiiiiiiiig cage you'd think, but too small for the boys. They need a bigger one but it's basically the biggest thing you can  buy lol.

Not a chinchilla but here's a few shots of my just ever-so-slightly narcissistic RDH hammy, Princess Jane....wonder if her name's got anything to do with it? Lol.

What a good idea, using a mirror to get photos. Princess Jane certainly seems to live up to her name.

Got Prince Snow (sensing a theme with hamster names here?) a new cage today; 120x54x34 cm for £35 off a woman who used to run a hamster rescue! She was amazing - said she had up to 30 hammies in her bedroom at any one time, and also had a rabbit and cats.
The cage itself, at 1004 sq. inches, is just amazing - I am so in love with it! It has climbing frames and stuff in there, and she gave me the cutest little dust bath ever with it too. Plus Prince's 12 inch wheel actually fits, yay.

The brown cage on top is his old one:

:x Your hams are gorgeous, and I think that Princess Jane should be narcissistic - who wouldn't want to admire all that cute in the mirror!!!

How is Prince Snow enjoying his amazing new cage? It looks really good :D

He is very tired now - but is utterly content. I left the door open, and whilst he was well aware he
could escape, he didn't (for once). So he likes it. :D

Oh and I forgot: got a favour to ask of you all.
Would you mind keeping an eye out for large, cheap, rodent-safe habitats? Eg large hamster cages, chinchilla/parrot cages, vivariums, etc. Ideally under £50 but depends on size of item.
Not going into details just yet in case it doesn't work out. But the critters and I have a Cunning Master Plan. Crittery probably knows what I'm talking about. :)
    Thanks.

On a sadder note I think Jane may have glaucoma. Her eyes have always been "buggish" and sometimes with white or more recently dirty whiteish and today she appeared to be "crying" blood from one eye and they have a blueish tint.
I am not sure what to do but have removed her dust bath and will see how she is.
Sometimes her eyes get bad then are better very quickly, but I may make her a vet appointment anyway though am not keen as handling seems to make them bulge even more, as if it might prolapse. Also I don't know what a vet might do to help. Will talk to the vet about it and see what he says.
I've always know her eyesight is even worse than the average hamster though, as she struggles when I change things around in her cage, but it could be a tear duct thing maybe, or an infection (in which case eye drops would cure the issue).
    Sorry for posting so much.

    I have just seen a £4000 chinchilla.

    :O

    Yes.....

    £4000
    Holy $@*!
He's gorgeous though. Hard to think that somewhere in the world this little guy is eating and pooping (which chins do a lot FYI) completely oblivious that someone somewhere else (Ritterspach I'm guessing? ) in the world is now £4000 richer, because of that tiny fluffy munchkin.
uuuuuuughhhhhhhhhhnnnnnnnnnn  though he's goooorgeous....he was the 187th chin born this year......almost 200 chins born in 4 months wow. (their gestation is about 110 days).
